Rain certainly did not dampen spirits for the group of 24 students who took part in the Engineering Activity day at the Imperial War Museum in Duxford, organised by Setpoint. The students took part in a range of engineering activities designed to promote teamwork as well as engineering. Activities included bridge building, the effect of aerodynamics and a range of other exercise within the RAF.
By the end of the activities the rain had stopped and the sun was out, so the students were able to explore the museum without getting cold and wet. All the staff involved would like to congratulate the students on their enthusiasm and attitude during the whole day. They were all without exception a credit to themselves and to Oriel Specialist Mathematics and Computing College.

Same time, Same place, next year!

On Monday 16th June a group of year 8 and year 9 students went to the John Grant School to participate in their sports festival.
We were split into 3 groups on our arrival which were Red, Green and Blue. We all took part in 3 different activities, Football skills, Curling and Badminton.
We all had fun and made lots of new friends.

The year 10 photography students have now completed their final visit to the three English Heritage sites in Great Yarmouth. The images they have taken will not only provide material for their latest GCSE project but also for an exhibition to be held in Row III and the Merchants House during the summer season.

Simon Tansley, the English Heritage site manager for the buildings, is holding an exhibition launch on Thursday 26th June to which students, parents, staff & governors of Oriel will be invited. The same group of photography students have recently had their work on exhibition at Norwich Cathedral and it was through this display that they were invited to work with English Heritage.
