Multi Skills FestivalThursday 23rd October 2008, saw the first sports festival held at Oriel Specialist Mathematics and Computing College for our feeder primary schools Herman, Moorlands and Peterhouse in the new sportshall.

Over 90 year 2 pupils came over for the festival, they were working on stations around the sports hall to develop their fundamental movement skills.

The day was a great success and the Oriel Sports Leaders were a credit to the college.
  • James Elliot
  • Liam Williams
  • Ricky Breward
  • Raymond Lillie
  • Gordon Green
  • Rona Vorden
  • Bradley Burnett
  • Shannon Milton (the bear mascot)

The year 2 pupils all went back to school with a certificate for their achievement. The feedback from the Primary schools was all positive and we look forward to the next one.

Oriel will unfortunately be closed from 14.35pm today until Monday 8th December at 8.25am. Your son/daughter will have received the letter below  with all relevant details.

Dear Parent/Carer,

Following a meeting with Environmental Health it was agreed that the college will be closed on Thursday 4th and Friday 5th December 2008; this is due to the continuation of the Norovirus in the Norfolk area.

During this period the college will be intensely deep cleaned by Norfolk County Council to eradicate any traces of the virus.

The college will open as usual on Monday 8th December 2008 at 8.25am.

Thank you for your continued support on this matter.

Yours Sincerely

Mr Paul Butler

Headteacher
