Year 6 students attended their transition days at Oriel Mathematics and Computing Specialist College on Monday 29th June and Tuesday 30th June. The theme for the day was ‘Space’. Throughout the day students took part in many activities all based around this theme.
In the English faculty students were asked to write a poem based on Space with the sub-heading ‘What it is to be human’.
Following is an example of the fantastic achievements made by the students during their English session.
What it is to be Human
To be human is to be helpful
Not to be human is being horrible
To be human is being powerful
Not to be human is being dreadful
To be human is to shine like a star
To be human is to be intelligent
To be human is to be experimentive
To be human is to be helpful
To be human is to be like a flower
To be human is having emotions
To be human is kind and caring
To be human is a really great thing
You can be independent, help and a lot more things
Not to be human is to be spiteful as spikes
Mean as a fighting machine.
To be human is to be like a ray of sunshine
To be human is all the colours of the rainbow
To be human is to like other humans in different ways
Humans are all alike
But some are mean and some are kind
Everybody has a brain to think
Humans do things for other people, not just for themselves
It’s nice to be human, just think of what you are.
To be human is to be scared
To be happy and sad
To be human is to love someone else
To be human you have to have a heart
To be human is to enjoy life
To be human is to dance like a leaping gazelle
To be human is to rise above the fallen
Being human is like being the brightest star
Shining as bright as the sun
Not being human is like a being a big, ugly dragon
Devouring things. A human is like a flower
Blossoming into a tree.
