DAY 2 PARISMonday started as most of the others were going to, very early start for breakfast then off to our destination, today being Paris!

We arrived in good time and started our tour of Paris with a really interesting boat trip on the River Seine. This took us past many amazing sights and was a very informative excursion.

The next stage of our Paris journey took us on the Metro, this for many of the students was a new experience and certainly an eye opener, with the volume of people using this amazing mode of transport, with the hustle and bustle this was certainly a moment to remember. We walked the Champs-Elysees and stopped for lunch in Montmartre at the Sacre- Coeur. This was followed by a limited number of us walking the hundreds of steps to the top! The views were fantastic and the church breathtaking.

The next and final stop was to the Eiffel tower and for many of the students this was also a first. We spent a couple of hours looking around and were very fortunate to be able to view the sights of Paris from the second floor on the viewing platform.

A group of Oriels’ talented year 9 PE girls travelled down to Chelmsford, accompanied by Mr Mcinally and Miss Hollis. It was a scorching day and we all enjoyed laughing at Claire ‘Nobsy’ Nobbs’ rather dashing sun hat, along with Freya ‘Shads’ Schaders’ bug like sunglasses.

We came accompanied with an England flag signed by all of the girls and various other banners. This clearly caught the eye of the Sky Sports camera crews and the girls enjoyed a moment of fame live on Sky Sports 1. The England Ladies did not disappoint eventually beating the visiting Aussies by 55 runs.

The trip was thoroughly enjoyed by all who came, especially by Courtney ‘The Hunter’, who managed to get two autographs from the Aussie fielders. The girls also suppported Essex cricket and Mr Mcinally wore his new umpire hat all day.

It was a fantastic day out, well done to all the girls who were a pleasure to take and represented the school impeccably.
