Electronic Media Policy
The term ‘Electronic Media’ refers to mobile phones, mp3 players, portable game consoles, communication and media devices.

These items should not be brought to the college, as the college cannot accept liability if they are lost or stolen.
If a student does need to bring a mobile phone, the college operates a policy that none of these devices are seen in the possession of students anywhere on the premises at any time during the college day.
Students may leave mobile phones in the office for collection at the end of the day. They may be given permission to use the college’s phones in emergencies.
Students are made aware of the rule…
NEVER SEEN, ALWAYS OFF
… and the consequences of not following it.
The college reserves the right at all times to ban completely the possession of a mobile phone by any individual at the head teacher’s discretion, and we have a duty to report to the police any incident of electronic media being used abusively, inappropriately, to cause distress or to harm any member of our community.
Thank you for your support in ensuring Oriel remains a safe and friendly environment for everyone to enjoy. For further information on this or any other policy please contact the college.
