What Does “Innovation and Development” Mean?
Sinnott Innovation & Development at Oriel – work outside the day-to-day curriculum – has, until very recently been an informal series of links to a variety of sources around Norfolk.
From January 2010, however, the co-ordinator has become professionally recognised with the award of a Sinnott Fellowship.
The Fellowship is awarded ‘to outstanding practitioners who hold a key outward facing role’. In other words, someone who does their best to encourage people from outside the school to help with raising the aspiration & self-belief of the students, in as many different ways as possible.
At Oriel we had already developed links with the areas identified on the drop-down list but The Fellowship will allow these to be developed far quicker than they would otherwise have been – and allow new links to be made, to further extend the potential of Oriel students.
