Greshams
Oriel and Gresham’s, a public school based in and around Holt in north Norfolk, have been slowly building strong links for 6 years.
The links developed from an informal visit which resulted in a dream for students from both schools to have the opportunity to experience ‘life’ in their rather different counterparts.
Part of the dream moved closer in 2008 – 2009 when 5 Oriel students spent 2 weeks living at Gresham’s, being effectively treated as if they were no different to their fee-paying peers. Gresham’s pupils, studying for the International Baccalaureate in the VI Form, came to Gorleston to work with Oriel students.
Another group of 5 Oriel students have just completed their first residential visit for 2009 – 2010.
The link is being moved forwards through a number of new initiatives this year.
