Oriel FM and Television

During 2008, following a call to Radio Norfolk, Oriel had a bespoke machine constructed that was able to broadcast throughout the school, with speakers inside and out – Oriel FM was born.

The station has broadcast ‘live’ most lunchtimes thanks to a dedicated group of students, led by Mr Sorrento.  We now have to move on to a more varied broadcast, including web-casts streamed through this web-site.

Once the radio was functional we drew up plans to add to the media area by creating a Media Suite, for use with Expressive Arts – drama  set design, planning, creating and editing films. It would also facilitate an IT-based Media GCSE – with a classroom containing fish-eye cameras for staff professional development and training opportunities.

These plans are now in the process of being up-dated.
